The Independent Artist Registry goes Live!

After evaluating thousands of US based artists from every genre, the Independent Artist Registry  has announced its first class of inductees. These artists were subjected to a focused evaluation on four key areas of artist development and are some of the best independent artists in the country.

The Los Angeles based band She’s Your Sister (SYS) was selected to receive the IAR’s first IndiE Award.  As the IndiE winner, She’s Your Sister’s CD In Between will be sent to the top 100 record label A&R reps in the US. SYS will also have 1,000 of their CD’s replicated for free, receive a one-year endorsement deal, be the subject of a feature article in the Music Phone Book & regional and national industry publications, and will be promoted nationwide through Broadjam.

The four runners up to SYS are: Kai Brown (Pop Rock - San Diego, Ca), Sahro Indio (Reggae - Honolulu, Hi), Marco de Carvalho (Jazz – Seattle, Wa) and Third Grade Teacher (Rock – Los Angeles, Ca).  All five of these artists can be found on the IAR’s website which was launched in conjunction to the national announcement of the first group of inductees. Each artist inducted into the IAR is featured with their own page that includes a breakdown on each artist, MP3’s, a Bio, and their booking and contact information.

Artists inducted into the IAR represent a very select group of the best and brightest independent artists in the nation.  As such they all receive a one-year endorsement deal and are actively promoted to a quarter million key music industry professionals who have full access to the IAR’s website.

The remaining members of the IAR’s 2005 class of inductees will be added to the website over the next two weeks to coincide with national and regional promotion and publicity campaigns in place.

With the 2005 class of inductees finalized, the IAR is again accepting submissions from artists that meet the IAR’s artist standard minimums which can be found on the website. There is no entry or review fee associated with the IAR, however the Registry is limited to Music Phone Book subscribers to eliminate part time artists.
