Is it true the Music Phone Book was distributed at the Grammy Awards?
Yes, the MPB has been distributed at many music award shows including the Grammy Awards.
Does it cost anything to get listed?
There is no charge to get listed in the Music Phone Book. We will need to call and confirm your information once a year to make sure it’s still accurate and up to date, but there is no charge or fee to get listed.
Now, if you want to run a display ad, or go with an upgraded bold listing or include a text summary of the services you offer, there would obviously be a charge just like any other publication. Submit your information now!

How accurate is the information?
We strive for 100% accuracy in each directory. When researching other music reference guides we were shocked at how inaccurate their listings were. One such publication was only 26% accurate. The majority of the others fell into the 55 - 75% accuracy range - which we felt was ridiculous. Those other publication's poor numbers are the primary reason we call and confirm 100% of the listings included in the Music Phone Book.

How often does the Music Phone Book come out?
The Music Phone Book releases three different editions; The Midwest,
The Eastern, and The West Coast.
What happened to the Midwest Music Directory (MMD)?
The MMD only covered the Midwest. Once we decided to expand our coverage, we felt the name Midwest Music Directory was too geographically limited, so we changed the name to the Music Phone Book. We still have the same in-depth information, only our name has changed.
I already submitted my information but some of it has changed. How can I update my info?
Simply go to the submit your information page, fill out your name and the information you'd like to change and select "Update existing info" in the 2nd from last question.
Do I have to answer all the questions?
No you don't. However, there are some fields that are mandatory such as phone number, etc. Our readers count on us to provide them with accurate information, so we do not list bands or businesses that do not complete these mandatory fields. After all, the point of being listed is to make it easier for other industry personnel to get in touch with you.
I can find most of the information myself on the internet right?
While the internet is a great research tool, many of the listings and contacts included in the MPB can’t be found on the web. Record label A&R reps, club talent buyers, etc get so many bands contacting them that many have removed their names and contact info from their websites.
How long has the MPB been around?
The MPB was started in 1999 and has grown to become the most accurate and comprehensive music guide available anywhere.
Why should a band get a copy of the MPB?
The MPB was created by musicians and music pros for musicians and music pros. Anyone who works in the industry knows you never have enough time to get everything done. Instead of spending hours searching for info (which you may or may not find), our readers would rather spend the $40 to get all the contacts at once and use the extra time on their projects. The MPB lists more live music venues, A&R reps, music publishers, & entertainment attorneys than any other guide.
How do you get all the industry contacts?
The MPB's publisher David Codr has spent 20+ years in the music industry as a concert promoter, talent buyer, band manager, publisher & producer. During that time, he developed many industry contacts and that list has kept growing since the launch of the MPB. Additionally, the MPB frequently audits other music guides for information. So the MPB essentially has all the contacts you'll find in other guides, plus thousands those other guides don't have.
Why are there three different editions?
Most of the musicians who buy music guides aren't touring the whole US, just part of it. The MPB was created to give more contacts for the part of the country the artist or music pro works in. We call and confirm 100% of our listings before we go to press which usually takes 4 months. By releasing three regional editions a year, we are able to offer our readers much more up to date information as we confirm it year round.
