Every year, 10,000+ independent artists and bands submit their information hoping to get listed in the Music Phone Book. As the music industry's premier music guide, we simply can't include that many independent artists.Plus many of those artists are only playing locally. The music pros who use the MPB to find new artists aren't looking for local bands.

For that reason we created the Independent Artist Registry (IAR), a listing of the nation's top independent artists. The primary goal of the IAR is to promote the nation's top independent artists to the quarter million music industry pros that read the MPB.

A maximum of 300 independent artists will be inducted into the IAR for each edition of the Music Phone Book. The top artist in each edition will receive prestigious Indie Award and will have their demo submitted to over 100 record labels including Atlantic, Universal, Sony and 95 others. They will also be featured in an article in the Music Phone Book and receive a free pressing of 1,000 CDs.

There is no entry fee required to be considered for the Independent Artist Registry, however you must meet the IARs minimum standards which can be found on the IAR's website.
